Uniform law allows access to electronic data after death
A new uniform law allows authorized individuals (personal representative, trustee, authorized agent) access to the electronic data of a decedent. The law entitled “Fiduciary Access to Digitial Assets Act, Revised (2015)” has been used to adopt laws on the access to electronic data of decedents in 15 states to date. The law can be downloaded from www.reinsdorf.net under “Treaties and Laws“.
